Jake & Raye
We are a couple of artists, in partnership in both business and life.
Jake and I have both turned to art in times of joy and grief, anger and depression, loneliness and excitement. Our works have long been vessels for emotion for us, individually and together.
When I first met Jake, he was using almost exclusively black fine tip and drawing elaborate, detailed stories and doodles. At the time, I was primarily playing with watercolour paint, although I dabbled in other colour forms like acrylic paint and soft pastels. Jake invited black lines into my work, and I brought watercolours into his. The result is a harmonious blend of structure and expression. Because we work so similarly these days, we often finish each other's pieces in ways that are (almost) seamless.
-Raye

A Maritimer in his bones and blood, Jake was born and raised in Ardoise, Nova Scotia - where the sea rushes, the winds blow. His spirit is wild, yet his soul is deeply rooted.
A British Columbian at heart, Raye grew up in Kamloops, BC - among mountains and sagebrush. They commune with trees to feel free.
Together, they live in the Kootenay Mountains of BC with their cat and 2 dogs, where they are enclosed by majestic mountains, and immersed in forests and rivers.

What do we do?
We are artists and printmakers. We print using a process called Sublimation, which uses heat and pressure to turn a special ink from a liquid into a gas and binds it to the substrate being printed on. We are currently able to print on fabrics like the t-shirts, bags, sheets, anything that is in a lighter color and is at least 65% polyester; the sublimation process requires that for the design to transfer properly--Natural fabrics like cotton will not work. We’re also able to print on aluminum and wood, and will be sharing these prints with you soon. We have lots of other ideas and plans in store for the future - like coffee mugs, tumblers, & more! Connect with us on socials to follow our story or to have your own artwork or branded merch printed!
Our Location
We are presently working out of our home in Nakusp, BC.
We do not yet have a storefront or a location that you can visit.
